Highland Music, LLC ("we," "us") builds music-learning apps for iOS, including Jazz Guitar Lab, Piano Chords Lab, and Note Quest (the "Apps"). We care about your privacy and keep the amount of data we handle to a minimum. This policy explains what we collect and why.

The short version

• We do not require you to create an account.
• We do not ask for your name, email, or location.
• Your progress and settings are stored on your device.
• We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Apps are used in aggregate, and Apple/RevenueCat to process in-app purchases.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information stored on your device

Your learning progress, streaks, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device (for example, in the app's local storage). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Deleting the App removes it.

Analytics

We use analytics tooling (PostHog) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data — such as which features are opened and general app events — so we can improve the Apps. This data is not used to identify you personally and is not linked to your name or contact details.

In-app purchases

Our Apps offer a one-time in-app purchase to unlock premium features. Purchases are processed by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and validate receipts. We never see or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple. Apple and RevenueCat may process a purchase identifier to deliver and restore your purchase.

Children's privacy

Our Apps are general-audience educational tools and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party services

The Apps rely on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Apple (App Store & in-app purchases)
• RevenueCat (purchase management)
• PostHog (anonymous product analytics)

Your choices

You can stop all data collection by deleting the App. You may also request information about the limited data associated with your device by contacting us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
